3S Newsletter Jan. 30, 2012
It's almost February! We have a very busy month coming up. I have attached a notice about our Valentine Skating party on Feb. 14. If you have any questions, just give us a call at ext. 222.
We are continuing to explore multiplication. The children are studying their 5 facts both in class and for homework this week. They made foldover fact sheets to study at home and they should spend 5 - 10 minutes each night practicing these facts, both in order and mixed up. They'll also have a worksheet each night as well. Any additional practice you can provide is greatly appreciated!
Our class is reading The Mysterious Giant of Barletta this week, a charming Tomie dePaola story. We will be wrapping up our Fantasy Book Groups in the near future and sharing our stories with each other in class. Your child may come home with different Reading homework this week because their group is done - the Chocolate Touch already is!
Exciting news! Our IMP plays will be presented on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 9 a.m. on our cafeteria stage. The children are very excited and we hope you can join us for our Trickster Tales then. We need to know if your child will be leaving for vacation early and won't be in school on that date so that we might make other arrangements.
As always, thanks for all your help and have a wonderful week!
