Martha's Vineyard Public Schools - Title 1
Title 1, Part A of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act is one of the nation's oldest and largest federally funded education programs.
The program provides additional funds to local school districts to assist low achieving students in high poverty schools. Funds are used to help these students to meet the states challenging academic standards.
Title 1 has 3 primary goals:
1- to improve student achievement for all participating students
2- to improve staff development
3- to improve parental and community involvement.
