Girls team wins Championship!
Buzzer beater against Oak Bluffs seals deal.
Edgartown Girl's Basketball Team won the Championship with an exciting buzzer beater against Oak Bluffs yesterday 16-15. The game was a hard fought defensive game for both teams. At halftime Oak Bluffs had the lead 9-4. Edgartown kept the full court pressure up in the second half. They were able to cause a few turnovers to score a few baskets and couple of foul shots to get within 3 points (15-13). With seconds left Edgartown got the ball and advanced it up the court for a last second shot made by Hanna Persson to win the game. Job well done Eagles!!! Scoring for the Eagles: Hanna Persson 12 , Jessie Chandler 2 and Jennie Lindland 2.
