Happy New Year!

 

I hope your Holiday Vacation was filled with family, friends and turned out to be most enjoyable.  It's good to be back in session as we begin the long stretch of school through the winter.  This is a very busy time at school as there are many exciting things happening both during and after school.  The winter after school session, under the direction of Sue Costello, kicks off on January 17 with Spanish, cooking, arts and crafts, garden club and baton twirling.  Contact Mrs. Costello if your child is interested in any of these fun courses that meet once a week through the week of Feb. 17.  Don't forget that our homework clubs, servicing grades 3-8, meet four times a week, (3rd grade meets three times a week) to assist students with homework from 2:45-3:45pm.  This is a great way for students to get help, have a snack and finish their homework! 

For seventh graders and their families; the ski trip is fast approaching.  We are set to travel to Gunstock Mountain on Feb. 8-10 for skiing and tubing.  This is always a very popular trip.  On January 27, the 8th graders will be putting on a spaghetti dinner in our cafeteria beginning at 5:30pm to raise money for their trip to Washington DC.  Please plan to join us that evening for supper.

Have you been following our basketball teams?  They are both off to a great start and we are expecting winning seasons and perhaps a championship or two this year.

As always, check in with your student's teacher to be briefed on his/her progress.  If I can help with this, please let me know as I am big on having parents meet regularly with teachers.
