Dear Parents;
Well, school is back in session after a long summer break! The summer saw almost forty students enrolled in summer school and steady growth in our Farmers Market on Friday mornings. It was great to see the students return yesterday will smiles and excitement as they filled the classrooms to begin another year. This year we have three new faces on our faculty. Nicole Barlett is our school nurse, Shelley LaSelva takes over the primary reading specialist role, and Julie Giordano assumes the Spanish teaching position.
Coming up on September 22 is our pot luck dinner, Health Fair and garden celebration beginning at 6pm and the Open House from 7-8pm. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this great event.
The new year brings opportunity for students to begin anew. It is especially important for parents to make sure that homework is completed and that students read at home on a daily basis. A regular nightly routine of homework and reading can be painless and successful. The teachers post homework on their web pages daily which helps if junior forgets to bring home assignments. Stay in close contact with your child's teacher to monitor work and behavior. As always, if I can assist, let me know.
Your Principal,
John W. Stevens
