Awesome 5th and 6th graders!  We are excited for the start of school.  Here is a list of supplies that you will need for the school year.  Please try to acquire them before the first day of school!  We are excited for a new year of learning!  Can’t wait to see all of you on Tuesday, September 6th!

GENERAL SUPPLIES-

• Homework Folder (to be used for all subjects)
• Pencil Pouch- to hold the following supplies
  • Pencils  (We recommend buying a few boxes.  Just put a few in your pouch. You can keep the rest at home or in your locker.)
  • Erasers (any kind~pencil top are great too!)
  • Small pencil sharpener
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick
  • Colored pencils – small box of 8-12
  • Ultra Fine Point Sharpie (Black)
  • 3 Highlighters (one yellow, one green, one pink)
  • Fine tip dry erase marker 

ELA

• Three subject notebook with dividers

MATH

• Two subject spiral notebook with pocket page dividers 
• Folder with pockets and prongs

SCIENCE

• Three-ring binder (2 inch is the best size)
• Three-hole-punched, lined paper for the binder
• Dividers for the binder

SOCIAL STUDIES

• Three-ring binder (a DIFFERENT  binder, not your science one!!)
• Three-hole-punched, lined paper for the binder (daily activators)
• Dividers for the binder (classwork, homework, tests/quizzes, project)

  • Lápis (Recomendamos comprar algumas caixas. Basta colocar algumas na sua bolsa. Você pode guardar o resto em casa ou no seu armário.)
  • Borrachas (qualquer tipo ~ lápis também são ótimos!)
  • apontador de lápis pequeno
  • Tesouras
  • Cola em bastão
  • Lápis de cor – pequena caixa de 8-12
  • Sharpie de ponta ultrafina (preto)
  • 3 marcadores (um amarelo, um verde, um rosa)
  • Marcador de apagar a seco de ponta fina

• Caderno de três assuntos com divisórias

MATEMÁTICA

• Caderno espiral de dois assuntos com divisores de página de bolso
• Pasta com bolsos e pontas

CIÊNCIA

• Pasta de três anéis (2 polegadas é o melhor tamanho)

Dear Parent/Guardians of 5^th and 6^th Grade Students

We want to take this opportunity to clarify our snack and celebration plans. In 6^th grade, fruit is provided for snack. It is a “working” snack rather than a “break”. The expectation is that there will be no food from home in the classroom. However, water bottles are recommended.

As you may know, The Wellness Committee has recommended that we celebrate birthdays with activities rather than food. Here in 6^th grade, we are excited to celebrate your child’s birthday during our advisory time with songs and activities. We’ll be sure they feel special on their big day! We kindly ask that you do not send in food for your child’s birthday.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child’s homeroom teacher.
