PTO Year End News Letter

The 2009 – 2010 School year is coming to an end and we would like to recap this school years PTO sponsored events. The Halloween Celebration was another huge success as was our Meadow View Farms Fundraiser.  During the Holiday concert we held our 2nd annual bake sale.  We had a clothing drive for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. Thanks to the many contributions we raised enough clothing to send off 21 boxes!  Family Pizza Bingo Night was a blast.  There was good food, great prizes from the school store, and tons of fun for all who attended.  Our plant / bake sale was lots of fun and helped off-set some garden expenses. Recently we hosted a well deserved luncheon on Staff Appreciation Day to celebrate the great staff that works at the Edgartown School.

Although the PTO hosts many fun activities through out the school year, we have contributed to two big, exciting additions this year at the Edgartown School. First, we have funded the construction of the beautiful “NEW” school store.  Mr. Yapp and his students have been hard at work building a permanent structure for the student Council to continue their great work. We have also purchased a Victorian Greenhouse that is currently being constructed out in our abundant School Garden. Please stop by and see what our children are growing!

The school year is coming to an end but the PTO will be working hard this summer hosting our 2nd annual Farmers Market.  This event will be held every Friday from 9 am to 12 pm on the school grounds, throughout July and August.  This is a great opportunity for local venders to sell their locally made and grown goodies.  You also get the opportunity to purchase things grown from our own School Garden! Let us know if you or anyone you know might be interested in taking part.

One Key component to all of these great events and contributions is the help we receive from all of you through out the school year. We the officers, of the PTO, would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who donate your time to make these things possible. Please come to our 1st PTO meeting September 14th.  In the past years we have also been able to host other events like Ice Cream Socials, dances for the students, and great guest speakers. Come join in the fun and help create the community you want your child to be a part of! Have a great SUMMER.  See you at the Farmers Market!!

THANK YOU!!!!!

Greetings from the PTO!!!

We are a non-profit association of dedicated parents & teachers. The PTO generates & sponsors enriching activities and social events for our children throughout the school year. We have monthly meetings held on the 1st Tuesday  in the library.
