Welcome to Sixth Grade!

Summer Work: Math Fluency Packet

Additional Copies Can Be Found In The Front Office

It is important that the packet is completed and returned on the first day of school.

Dear Incoming 6th Grade Students and Families,

We are excited about next year and all you will learn in 6th-grade math! Many of the topics we will learn about require a strong understanding of multiplication facts. Therefore, a goal we have for you is to begin 6th grade knowing all of your multiplication facts. When you know your multiplication facts, it’s easier to find common denominators and simplify when you are working with fractions, and it’s easier to master long division. One focus of the summer work packet is practicing these facts. This packet also reviews other topics that are important to know and understand for the upcoming school year.

Students who receive this packet at the start of summer break are expected to have completed this grade-appropriate review by the first day of school. Throughout the course of the summer, students should work on the problems in the packet in intervals so they have enough time to complete the work before the start of school. We recommend doing a page or two each week.
Please feel free to use outside resources if you do not remember a topic or would like additional review.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the 6th-grade teachers.

We look forward to an exciting year of learning together! See you in September!
