A Peek at Our Week 10/15 – 10/18
Literacy:
This week we learned how to say the sounds of the letters A, M, and S. We also learned how to write those letters in both uppercase and lowercase. Learn more about our week in the weekly parent letter here. Below you will see the M sound poster we used in class, ask your child if they can find anything that starts with M in the picture.
Math:
This week we practiced patterns and learned how to write digits 1 through 5. Ask your child to write the numbers for you and ask them if they can work backward to find what come first in the pattern below.
More:
We did a lot of other fun things this week too! On Thursday we celebrated Children’s Day with a whole school community meeting in the gym and delicious Brazilian food for breakfast and lunch. On Friday we took a walking field trip to Derby Headquarters where we got to see a fish weighed in and filleted! We also learned about how the Derby gives back to our island community. After our field trip we had Health class with Ms. G and a special visitor from the Edgartown Fire Department. Thank you to Lt. Ignacio for teaching us about fire safety and showing us that even though the fire uniform looks a little scary it is still a helper inside!
