What’s Happening in the ART ROOM?

CREATIVE CONNECTIONS… supporting classroom studies through the Visual Arts.
Grades K-2 are delving into Literacy Art with projects ranging from puppet making to “Bring A Book to Life”.
The goal is provide children “hands on, minds on” opportunities to retell stories through their own creative lens.
Grades 3 & 4 will be learning about Shape vs. Form in a project called “Sweet Treats”a tribute to artist Wayne Thiebaud.
Grades 5 & 6 are learning about Space, the Aurora Borealis and HOW & WHY different colors appear in the Northern Lights.
In grade 7 we are learning about Picasso and how artists use Symmetry vs. Asymmetry in their artwork.
Grade 8 continues their study of movements in MoDeRN aRt and how to freely explore your creative process.
NEW this year SPARK on Wednesday afternoons for grades 5&6.
These classes are led by our fabulous United Arts team and are designed around a variety of topics.
